Dear Ish
I've wanted to start yoga again for some time but have never had the courage because I've had so many problems with posture and over-worked, inefficient muscles mainly due to fell running but also due to a damaged lower back in my youth. After the first session in your Wednesday class, I was completely energized the next day, both mentally and physically with little or no stiffness or pain. It's the best I've felt for years. And, each Thursday morning I wake up with the same benefits. I've begun to run more easily too. What's more, I'm starting to realise I can move my body with confidence and can become stronger, more flexible and mentally less stressed. Not bad for 4 sessions! Thanks Ish!
See you next week

Hey Ish,
After practicing yoga on and off for years I always felt some element was missing. I never seemed to progress past a certain point and my attention would wane. After attending Ishwara's classes, I found the missing pieces and excelled very quickly in flexibility, stamina and strength. The missing pieces for me where a sense of spirituality and bringing everything home to the breath, I hadn't realised it's importance up until this point.
Ishwara's classes were beautiful to be involved in and it soon felt like a group of friends. I loved the classes so much, afterwards I would feel extremely relaxed yet extremely exhilarated at the same time. I highly recommend Ishwara if you're looking to go a bit deeper into yourself and yoga, he is the teacher for you. Thanks Ishwara for all you taught me it will stay with me and my practice for life.

Hi Ishwara,
I wanted to thank you again for a really delicous weekend. I cannot tell you how much your guidance, instruction and inspiration has meant to me since I started coming to your classes. I have always loved yoga and meditation and you have opened up so much more for my mind to consider and absorb. I found the weekend really spiritual and it answered some questions but created so many many more. I have floated through the week trying to be mindful of the things you have taught us and the positive, joyful, compassionate, empathic energies created within. I cant say I will always get it right but from now on i will always be trying!!!!

Hi Ishwara,
Word to describe the weekend:
Laughter, feeling good, stretching, great yoga, learning, wonderful place, hot tub, lovely room, special time, warmth, love, friendship, knowing I had made the right decision to go on the course,
re-affirming that there is peace, and that people can be naturally in touch with that peace.
My favorite moment ?
laughing with friends until my sides hurt
I also remember your words about if you keep your third eye open to consciousness, it is possible to keep an open heart with unconditional love for all, instead of the heart opening and closing
like..a jellyfish !
I thought that was very well put, you verbalized something I hadnt quite understood previously and now I understand, thankyou.
peace,
Anna

Dear Devi & Ishwara,
I wanted to drop you a line or two re the yoga weekend at Nab Cottage firstly what a lovely setting overlooking the lake and the hot tub/sauna made it feel incredibly luxurious, wholesome veggie food and catering for different food intolerance diets, simply superb venue! Also what a wonderfully friendly lovely bunch of people such a lot of nice calming energy from them and when we were doing the group chanting the energy was palpable totally spine tingly.
Two fantastic days of classes the teaching styles complimented each other perfectly feel so blessed to have shared the weekend with you.
I found the yoga nidra especially profound it must have been exactly what I needed to further my practice after the weekend I experienced a quite intense healing crises further confirming the benefits gained. It can never be overestimated the progression in your personal practice that can be made by good teachers who put their heart, love and soul into their teachings, which you guys clearly do!! Enjoying the utter bliss I feel from the weekend and hope I can join you again very soon!
Oceans of love Adi xx

Dear Ishwara,
Many thanks for a truly memorable weekend. Although a relative beginner I felt completly at ease with the group......what a lovely bunch of people and everyone keen to give of their knowledge and experience. Many thanks too for your inspirational practice, your passion for yoga shines through. (early fire making also another of your skills!!!) I now have a much more rounded understanding, albeit basic, and am looking forward to expanding my knowledge and practice. Loved the yoga nidra, and found the assana practice more dynamic and therefore challenging. I agree with you that the care given to all our needs was wonderful, what a beautiful venue, I always find being in the lakes a spirtitual place of it's self. I would love to repeat the experience, and look forward to another retreat. Love, Peace, and best wishes, Audrey Nab cottage 2011

Another wonderful weekend with such lovely people. I have come back feeling revitalised and (almost) ready to face the world, but given the choice would have liked to stay for much longer......... Despite my sceptical leanings in the belief department, Ishwara's yoga, chanting and meditation teach me that there is more than one way of believing; the proof is in the practice! Thank you! (2007)
Om Ishwara , ......
Yes, peaceful and balanced, inspired and energised would all be words to describe how I'm feeling. I think that you teach with great heart and humility and love and this really infuses your work with gentleness and positivity. I loved that you were so flexible around timetabling and sequencing in the sessions. It made the pace feel spontaneous. Your voice is also wonderful to listen to and work with - it really focuses the mind towards the actions being asked of the body and your quiet repetition of instructions/invitations somehow entered my own thought processes, so I felt more guided than taught. Vanda Scaravelli in her book Awakening The Spine says of her teacher B.K.S. Iyengar: "We can say that he has the genius of teaching, having the possibility to acts with his willpower on the body of others, taking it 'psychologically' into his hands, as if it was his own, to bring it to the point he wants." and I think you have something of this quality of attention and clear communication and wholeheartedness that just makes the body and mind and heart want to open like a flower. It is a real gift and I'm so grateful to have experienced it. I also liked the mix of asana, vinyasa, pranayama, mantra, meditation and experiencing the landscape outside - I think you got the balance right in the time allotted.......... I valued and enjoyed the whole weekend. You really did 'share Yoga' with us, as you intended. A hundred thousand shining thanks! Namaste.
Love and blessings

Dear Ishwara,
Only after returning home did I realise how amazing this experience was. Even after having attended several yoga classes prior to this, I see this as my first real experience of Yoga. Now I am hooked! I have started getting up early to meditate and practice. As I practice I remember you as my teacher and can hear you giving me instruction on what to do. I must thank you so very much for the experience, the memory of which will stay with me for a long time. I only regret not having discovered yoga and its magic earlier in my life, though I am truly grateful for it at this time.
thank you, Harsha (2005)

I have spent the morning thinking about what a special weekend we have all just had... my heart feels open and I have a sense of peace and clarity. Your retreat created a sense of community which was both refreshing and supportive. The yoga practice was uniting and encouragingly challenging at times. The Lakes beautiful. Thank you so much for a very inspiring and nourishing few days, you are a truly warm and open person and I feel very happy to have met you and found your retreat... I enjoyed it all! , Love, Quen (2005)
Dear Neil ,
I feel so much more in my heart after the retreat , much softer , it is a really lovely place to be . Thank you for sharing your love through the yoga practice , it makes such a difference for me , it is how I have always wanted to practice but have never really found a teacher who has brought it all together, the postures , the flow and breath , the heart energy - so I have taken that lovely feeling and understanding away with me . so i look forward to sharing again with you on this journey , may love and peace be with you.

Namaste Ishwara! ........'
I thank you so much for all the times I have so far been guided by you in the stages towards inner peace. I never thought I could move forward so far from the 10 years of despair in trying to survive depression, even though having medical assistance. I truly wonder at how my awareness of inner energy has been developed so I can really feel a positive power pulsing around my body. It is so good to know someone such as yourself who has the gift of enlightening others to achieve better mental and physical awareness. Kind Greetings for The Year of the Ox.

Hi Ishwara,
I felt so blesssed to be part of this wonderful experience - I love the way you teach with your peaceful way and with no fear of showing your heart and speaking heartfully. I often feel that people find me 'too much' and I try to curb my joy so that people are more comfortable and I felt no need to do this surrounded by like - hearted people. It was such a joy and I will keep it with me. See you again someday soon and thankyou x

Hi All, Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the yoga retreat and meeting you all in Cumbria. To be honest I was a little bit nervous. I vowed that I would go there with an open heart and I soon got over my slight self-consciousness especially during kirtan. It's been such a long time since I've sung anything! Everyone was really welcoming and supportive. Good energy, great weather, delicious food. It was really inspiring. 'til the next time. Best wishes Sharon

I absolutly adored every minute of my time at Rookhow. It was amaizing really. I felt so at peace, so comfortable. The classes were perfect and you tailored them to suit everybody there. Your adjustments are unreal! More more more please! At first I was a bit worried about what the others would think of me and if i'd be taken seriously (20 years old, doesnt know what yoga nidra means etc) But, by the end of it I didnt care! It didnt matter who any of us were, we just all blended in to make a beautiful group to be in. Ishwara, I cant thank you enough for the most fantastic weekend what a chance. what a moment! Im quite sure you'll remain as humble as ever but I hope deep down you do know how special you made it. Love and Peace as allways.... Xsusanx (2004)
