Ishwara has been teaching Yoga and Meditation in the Southern Lake District, England since 2003 after moving up from London, leaving behind a career in IT engineering and Art & Photography.
Ishwara practices and teaches Yoga as illuminated by his teacher Swami Sivananda Saraswati and his disciple Swami Vishnu Devananda.
Ishwara's teachings and practice are an expression of his spiritual devotion, philosophical enquiry and love of Hatha Yoga.
Before training with the Sivananda Vedanta Yoga organisation in 2003 ishwara practiced daily Yoga in London from 1991; enjoying the bountiful variety of 'styles' of Hatha and Laya Yoga. So it is no surprise that there is an influence there of the Vinyasa and Bandhas from Ashtanga and Shadow Yoga; precision of form from Iyengar; enjoyment of the power of mantra from Kundalini etc etc.
Primarily however Ishwara is drawn to the teachings of the Himalayan Masters and Shri Sivananda primarily; the Yoga of austerity, precision, daily practice and most of all that the Yoga is a gift to all, given humbly with no reqward expected in return.
Ishwara's aspiration is to open a Yoga & Meditation centre, to provide a multitude of spiritual and therapeutic disciplines to serve the local population and become, over time, a font of wisdom and a place to perfect body and mind.
