Sivananda Yoga, after teachings of Swami Sivananda, is a non-proprietary form of hatha yoga in which the training focuses on preserving the health and wellness of the practitioner.
Sivananda training revolves around Surya namaskar (Sun salutations), Pranayama (Yogic breathing practices), relaxation between groups of postures, emphasizes full, yogic breathing. Pacing is slow to medium.
LEVEL 1: beginner
LEVEL 2: intermediate
LEVEL 3: advanced
Level 1 classes are taught at DW, barrow in Furness.
And as a course @ lantern House, Ulverston booked through Cartmel adult education.
Level 2 is taught as a course @ fellside centre, Kendal booked through BreweryArts
Level 2/3 is taught through Ishwara's group which is invitation only (please contact me if you are interested).
